The Cyprus Advocates Pension Fund was established on 14 September 1966 with the publication of the relevant Council of Ministers decree in the Official Gazette of the Republic on 8/9/1966. The Fund commenced its operations on 1 December 1966.

The aim of the Fund is to provide pension benefits to its members who, according to Regulation 2, para. (1) of the Advocates (Pensions and Allowances) Regulations of 1996-2017, are lawyers practicing the profession but do not include Law Officers employed by the Law Office after 14 September 1966.

The members of the Administrative Councils of both the local bar associations and the Cyprus Bar Association at the time worked with great persistence and enthusiasm in order to implement the relevant provisions of the Law.

Special thanks for their decisive contribution to the implementation of the relevant legal provisions and the establishment of the Fund must be attributed to the late Lefkos Clerides, Kritonas Tornarites, former Attorney General, Charilaos Ioannides, Frixos Markides, Achilleas Emilianides, etc.
